Code of Conduct & Institutional Guidelines
1. Students taking admission in DSHM, Kalyani will be under its able supervision.
2. Students will not be allowed to enter the class without a proper uniform in both theory & practical classes.
3. No absentism will be allowed without the guardian’s consent.
4. No regional communication will be allowed apart from English inside the Campus.
5. No students will be permitted to go outside the Campus during the College timings. If found, then the students will be dealt with strictly.
6. Class timing 11.00 hrs to 16.30 hrs. It may change if any extra class is required by the Faculty Member.
7. If anybody is found to be late in attending the class on specific time unnecessarily, he /she will not be allowed to attend the class.
8. Wearing of ornaments like bangles, earrings, finger rings, cufflinks, wristlet etc are strictly prohibited in the Institute.
9. No excuse for absentism will be entertained during Casual Training, Class Test, Final Examination, etc.
10. Consumption of alcohol, drugs, smoking, and other addictive materials is prohibited inside the hostel and college premises. If anybody is found consuming one of these will be expelled from the college on the spot.
11. During Industrial Training and final Placement, students cannot choose the location or area of posting. DSHM management will arrange one-time Industrial Training and Placement through client interview selection. If a student leaves or is terminated during Training or Placement, no further Training or Placement will be arranged.
12. No ragging inside College & Hostel is allowed. Demurrage charges will be levied on damage and lost objects of the College by the students.
13. No mobile phones will be allowed during college hours.
14. Misbehaving with others will be severely punished.
15. Extra hours of classes may be implemented if necessary.
16.Every student has to pay a nominal stipulated bus fare decided by the Institute before starting a particular month (If any Bus facility is provided by the Institute).
17. Once admitted to the Hostel no students will be allowed to leave without a valid reason. If any student leaves the hostel during the course of study, his/her security deposit will be forfeited.
18. According to the rules & regulations of the University, an attendance of 85% in the Campus (Excluding the Time Periods of Industrial Training) is a must. DSHM will not issue an admit card to students for the Final Examination (85% attendance, including 5% Concession on Medical Ground).
19. Every student has to pay a subscription fee per year for organising different cultural programs.
20. If a student discontinues the course midway, no fees paid will be refunded under any circumstances, and no claim can be made to any authority. If a student remains absent for 60 consecutive days without a valid reason or prior notice, their name will be removed from the college register.
21. The management of DSHM is not responsible for any delays related to the University.
22. Maintaining cleanliness on the Campus is the prime responsibility of the students.
23. Every student has to maintain proper grooming (Polished shoe, clean-shaven, pressed shirt & trouser, proper haircut, etc.).
24. Every guardian of the students has to attend the guardian meeting according to the intimation given by the management of DSHM.
25. All instalments must be paid by the 5th of each scheduled month and are accepted only via Cheque, Debit/Credit Card, ICICI Easy Pay app, or Demand Draft in favour of Dolphin School of Hotel Management, payable at Kalyani. Bank transfers, bank deposits, and cash payments are not accepted. In case of a cheque bounce, the instalment must be paid in cash along with a ₹1,500 fine and a ₹500 processing fee, as per the instalment schedule.
26. The students having below 85% attendance have to pay a fine for appearing in the Annual Examination. The Management will not be liable for his/her placement.
27. While going for 6 months of Industrial Training, the students must pay their installment in advance by Post Dated Cheque (PDC) as per their schedule and have to pay 50% of Hostel Fees in advance.
28. At the time of hostel enrolment, students must deposit two months’ hostel fees as a security deposit, which will be adjusted against the last two months of stay. If a student discontinues the course at any time, the two-month security deposit will be forfeited without any claim or explanation.
29. No candidate shall be allowed to appear in any of the semester examinations if he/she fails to get an NOC from the Account Section.

11. During Industrial Training and Placement choice of students as far as the area is concerned will not be entertained. The management of DSHM is responsible for arranging the one-time Industrial Training and one-time Placement through client interview selection for each student of DSHM. In any circumstances, if a student is terminated from the organization or leaves the Job intentionally during the Training & Final Placement, the Management of DSHM will not arrange any further Training or Placement schedule for these particular students.
