India’s hospitality journey began in 1903 with the establishment of the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Bombay by J. R. D. Tata, followed by the rise of Oberoi Hotels in the 1930s. Post-independence, tourism gained national focus with the formation of ITDC.
